Poker Blog

A lovely weekend of grinding it was.  I was playing heads up matches on one site this weekend and managed to clean out just about every player I faced.

Alas on Sunday it went the other route and bye bye bankroll.  If anyone cares to send me $4 on pokerstars, I'd appreciate it.

I played a 2.02 buyin event and managed to make it into the money twice the weekend.  Granted it was only $6 that I got for my efforts, but it's a good sign.

Three hours, playing perfectly, waiting for a hot streak of cards, which eventually came in the form of Pocket aces, Kings, Aces, rags, AJ, AQ, rags and pocket Kings.  My stack went from 7,000 to almost 40,000 in the span of those hands.

Alas, I ran into a massive donkey who popped it pre-flop with 4-5.  I made the call with AhKh, to see a ragged flop.  Deciding this is a good flop to move in at when it was checked to me, I moved my 30k stack in.  He snap calls with 4-5 offsuit.  With his two-pair.

Beautiful, and I'm history, $6 richer, but history.  It's a little disheartening that I got $6 for that work.. But I'm progressing.

I haven't been playing well in the fulltilt freerolls, last night mostly due to a few too many white russians.

However, AngryRuffer has finally cracked the money barrier, winning $9 in an event Saturday night.  The heat is now on Sahara and I to kick his ass. :)

Stay Angry and keep on grindin.

Lovely day today in the sun, however, as it begins to darken, I resume my quest for bankroll supremacy, or more like bankroll creation on the weeeeeb.

I played a limit HORSE tournament tonight, and I must say I quite enjoyed it.  The game keeps changing, keeping me on my toes.

Alas with limit games, donk-outs still occur.  I managed to hit what I thought was the best low hand in Razz with low to the deuce, pushing in as much as I could, when my caller hit the miracle Ace to get an ace low hand.

The no-limit freeroll begins the once, and I'll be sure to keep you posted on the runnings of it.

Wish me a donkey free tournament.

I'm about an hour and a half into a tournament now, making solid plays all night and I run into pocket aces with my huge stack.

I was leading the tournament for some time and now, I'm sitting here waiting for a decent hand to shove my last 1400 chips in on at the 150/300 blinds with 25 antes.

I landed my favorite hand some time ago, only to get away from it to a min raise.  Angry's favorite hand is 6-8.

The flop was 5-7-9.. Imagine my disgust.

As I type this, tDubs laptop has lagged twice, and I have finally landed ace-7 spades...

Against my favorite hand with a big blind of 30 plus thousand, my caller shows 6-8...

The flop... 6-7-7..I'm laughing.. A turn of a 6 and he's down to one out...

I avoid the inevitable last 6 in the deck... I'm doubled up to 3200, and we'll see what happens next...  The worst thing about doubling at this stage, is that it actually gives me hope.

I've landed 9-2 in the big blind, with an all heart flop..  Luckily I've landed 9-2 of hearts.

I push in my last few chips and the 4 limpers run away to the King High board...  What the hell?

I fold my Jack 9 small blind to watch pocket 4's go in against aces... Alas the river would have given me the straight.  Again, rotten, but I can't let it affect me...

I'm up to 5,000 in chips again..  And the break begins... Interesting...  I've 5000 in chips...  The average chip stack is 22,000 and I have 5000.  I need to double and double again... Fast.

The break is over and the blinds are 250 and 500 with a 50 ante.  I'm in no better shape.

I'm in 131'th place out of 151 remaining players.  If this was the world series, I'd be in the money.  Unfortunately, I've aways from the money.  One more double up, please.

My question now is to go in on a long shot, perhaps making it big, or to go in on something half-solid and hope for a double.

I'm position 118 out of 128... I'm no more than a scrap... Just waiting to go... Cross your fingers.  Suited Jack-8 I choose to move in on.

One caller....Two callers and the board runs 6-7-A-3-3 I know I'm dead...  One of my callers drives the other player out on the river, and shows...  pocket 4's?? And I'm out in 118th place.. Looks like there was a couple of corpses slightly ahead of me.

Until tomorrow Fellow poker grinders... 2700 started and I made it 90 bodies from the money.  I'm getting close.

Stay Angry.
